Exploring and Learning Through Nature and Inquiry

Camping at Jordan River

This weekend, we were able to head out to the trail and stay overnight! We decided to go to the Jordan River Dam, which is a bit of an easier trail, it’s basically just a logging road. I actually got to practice learning standard a little bit. Since the trail was relatively flat, I decided that I may as well start learning. It was pretty hard, especially cause it wasn’t a paved road. I did stall a few times, which is to be expected! But I know that I definitely need to practice more if I want to feel comfortable driving along some more difficult trails. I probably only practiced for 10 minutes before I got frustrated and just wanted to get going and find a spot to camp for the night!

We brought a tent, fire wood and some food and water and spent the night under the stars. There’s something about camping in the middle of no where that is just so peaceful. There wasn’t any light or noise pollution, so it was super quiet and we were able to see a ton of stars! I wish that I had a good camera so I could have taken some pictures of the stars, it was pretty fantastic! It was a little bit cold, as we head into the more chillier months, so next time I will definitely bring an extra blanket or 2! Where we set up camp, there was actually a fire pit there, so we were able to build a fire a stay warm. Another thing to note is that there was no cell-service where we were. It was actually pretty nice to not have any internet connection so we could just take a break from social media, even if it was just for a night! We got back this morning and I feel a lot more rejuvenated. It was nice to have a little pause from the craziness that online school has brought me.
